Music
At Fossdene we recognise that music is a universal language and a powerful art form. It can boost creativity, increase self-confidence and help to develop social skills.
Children have a weekly lesson and singing assembly with our specialist music teacher in our dedicated music room. We run a school choir and all children have an opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument during their time at Fossdene.
Whether children are learning to play the ukulele, improvising on a djembe, exploring the patterns of South African Gumboot rhythms, pairing body percussion with Beethoven or discovering the instruments of the orchestra with The Carnival of the Animals, music at Fossdene is creative, inclusive, engaging and fun.
Through music lessons at Fossdene we hope to inspire in our children a passion for music that will last a lifetime.
