Inclusion
All Greenwich maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs/ and or disabilities, and are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school. All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with a Special Educational Need/s and or disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible, where families want this to happen. Fossdene works within the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014. . (Statutory guidance on this is contained in section 6.79 to 6.82 of the Special educational needs and disability code of practice: 0 to 25 years).
At Fossdene the curriculum is delivered so that tasks match the needs and abilities of our children. We are aware that at different times, and for a variety of reasons, children will at some stage require help and support additional to that which they receive in the classroom. We monitor children closely and set up good systems of support.
The school makes full use of all the agencies in the Royal Borough of Greenwich to ensure that every child’s needs are met.
